The cable provides 8.00 metres (315 inches) of connection length without armor and serves the 8 mm eddy-current proximity measurement family (21504 / 21505 / 21508 / 21747), one of the most widely deployed probe systems in the installed base of industrial rotating machinery.
In a proximity measurement loop, the extension cable links the probe to the Proximitor and directly influences the accuracy of the vibration signal. The 21747-080-00 supports a total system length of five or nine metres from probe tip to Proximitor, allowing electronics to be located in junction boxes or control rooms away from the machine. When the probe and cable are calibrated as a system, the loop holds a 200 mV/mil scale factor within ±4% and linearity within 0.8 mils (0.02 mm), with a frequency response covering 0 to 10 kHz (0 to 600,000 cpm).
Environmental capability matters for cables routed across machine halls. The 21747-080-00 operates from -34°C to +177°C (-30°F to +350°F) with the probe and tolerates relative humidity up to 95% noncondensing. For installations where the run is exposed to mechanical abuse, stainless-steel armored variants of the same family are available; the unarmored 00 option of this variant is the right choice for runs protected by conduit or trays.
